Season Crazyness & Deadlines!

I am so wanting to get back to this blog, but the season's busyness has been overwhelming! I cant complain, but the Christmas break will be very welcome in my house, by me AND my family! They are tired of me being "glued" to the computer as my 6yr old tells me!

I want to mainly tell everyone that Dec. 10th is the last day we will promise delivery by Christmas, which is VERY quickly approaching, so If you have an order out there get it placed!!

I'm also including a quick couple of my girls Christmas shoot, that was done so long ago, but finally getting to edit a few! I cant wait to work on my cards, but still have a few clients to do first! Jeena, thank you so much for letting us use your place for the pictures!!!

WAY to long!

It has been WAY to long since Ive posted pictures here! Its been a crazy several weeks! It seems like things like web-problems, etc always occur at the time of a family crisis!! Oh well, we are back on track, and I just wanted to share some shots of my recent gorgeous senior, Miss Alyssa. I get to meet the coolest people and families through my business which I am truly grateful! Alyssa, your family was so fun, and the pumpkin cake finished the morning off wonderfully! Hope you enjoyed your session as much as I did!!

Ill post some sneak peeks of the shoots from last week later tonight!

Website..

I Hate that I have not been able to post pictures here for the last few weeks of sessions! Its just been so crazy with my cousin passing away and traveling to funerals and the website going down at the same time! I appreciate every ones patience! The client viewing should be fully switched to my new server where we don't have the problems I had before! During the switch however, most of the reduced sized images were lost, so I'm having to go through and re thumb all of them. So if your session isn't showing your thumbnails, I'm working on getting them all back up! Lesson learned! Don't always go with the big named company!!! There is something to be said for a smaller, more customer friendly group!!!

Im also running 1-2 weeks behind do the the webiste crash. Thanks again!!!!

Update...

for those that have called regarding access to my site, I am working on it. I do have access back up to the main website, but my client viewing is still not fully operational. Yahoo is having some issues with their small business servers. I am taking the opportunity to re host somewhere else more reliable, and within 2 days it should all be up and running smoothly! Thanks for your patience! Also, We have are traveling to Iowa for a funeral and will be out the remainder of the week. I am taking work, so your sessions will still be going up, just wont be in the studio this week.

Thanks so much!

Little Mr. "S".

Here's some more from my first week of sessions at my new studio... These are of Sarah's (my new WONDERFUL gal helping me with my ordering) little boy. Ever since his newborn pictures he has been probably one of the most photogenic little guys Ive ever seen. Its really hard to take a bad picture of him! Sorry to keep you in suspense Sarah, but I think they will be worth it! And also, thank you for keeping my head above water this last week while I was tied up with Eric's mom, I couldn't have done with without you!! :)

Check back later today for posts with the rest of the sessions from the week of September 15, and most of the full sessions should be posted by sometime tomorrow!!

Its been to long...

Its been to long since I posted pictures! Thanks for every ones patience while we were dealing with a family med. emergency! I'm still getting caught up and will be by early this week. I thought Id post a quick few I'm working on from my first week in my new studio! I will post some from the end of that week later today! The new place is so incredible with big old windows and trim that is just incredible. The back of the house also has just such incredible spots to use as well. It was so fun getting to know the new place, and everyone really seemed to enjoy having more space for their sessions. My very first session was a senior, and so fun! I get to photography such beautiful kids.. both young and older! Then were some younger ones, one 2yr old and one family of three. The 2 year old was so active and full of life.. Anna I so enjoyed hearing about your background and loved hearing you speak to him in Russian! He is such a doll, good look with your new jobs/interviews! Then the family of three... such adorable little blond headed kiddos... I got lots of great ones of the whole gang, but these two of the oldest just really jumped out at me. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Schedule...

Just wanted to give anyone with shoots from last week a little heads up, that I'm running about 3-4 days late on my session proofing... We had a very sudden illness come up in my husbands family that I have been taking care of this week as we are the only family here. I appreciate every ones patience, and rest assured your proofs will be worth it when you see them!

thanks so much for your patience!!!

Bringing part of "you" to a shoot.

This session I posted the proofs for earlier in the week has just really stuck out in my mind. Each of the kids brought along a little something that they were "in to" to incorporate into the pictures. I always have tons of stuff to work with of my own, or just come up with my own ideas for a session, but its always so cool to work in a bit of who they are into the pictures. The oldest was into basketball and reading, the middle one's fav. was her guitar, and the little gal brought her blankie. These pictures just seem to have so much life, and personality and were just so fun I had to share. I also caught a few sun flare shots in this session which are always so much fun.

The Studio! 503 E. High St.

Well, lets just say its been a crazy couple of weeks. I have always had a dream of having my own studio in a cool old house uptown, instead of having it in my basement. However its always been my motto and my goal to produce beautiful works of art, but still keep my overhead low so that I can keep my prices as low as I can. Because of that, Ive just always assumed Id have my studio in my house. An incredible opportunity landed in my lap to rent a couple of rooms upstairs in this fabulous house uptown for a price that can still work within my budget. It will also upen up what I can do with my lighting having the extra space to work with. It used to be the home of the Sugarbakers and then later their doctors practice. Dr. Sugarbaker still owns the house but lives in Cape Girardeau. Jeena Hunget of Body Linens rents the other half of the upstairs so together we have the entire top floor. The house is so full of history and just incredible old original wood trim and plaster walls. The place is exactly what I have dreamt about in a studio. I think the atmosphere of it will lend itself so perfectly to my work, and puts me so close right up town to all the fun urban places for shoots, along with being so close to the governors gardens. I am really on cloud nine! We are moving the studio this Sat., so if you have a session scheduled, this sat. (13th) will still be at my house and after that all sessions will be at my new place!

I had a session uptown this week with the kids of my jewelry vendor, and since we were so close, we ran by and tried out some of the outside locations around my new studio! The little "rock stars" were so adorable rockin it up outside my new place! There are so many cool places to explore there I can hardly wait!!!
