What was going on here last week-

Last week was a great week! First and foremost, we closed on our old house! Yeah!!! Its so good to get that behind us! I can focus more on the business now with out my head so clouded with all that stress!! I had so many fun clients last week, which really isn't any different than other weeks, I never get tired of it and its always fun!!! I had some more out of town clients, with part of the family living here. Its always fun to get to be part of a reunion of sorts and capturing some of those moments when the whole family is back together. I did 2 sessions with this group with the first being one where daughter and granddaughter had just flown in from Virginia. Needless to say the baby had quite a day and was really worn out from the travels.. we still managed to get some great shots in between the cries and it was so worth being patient waiting for her to calm down, because the in between shots were so great!! Then the next night brought the whole extended family together and the weather was so perfect outside! Next was my neighbor's sister n law's kids and they were so fun! I always hear so much about them that it was so fun to get to see them in action! Amy, little "G" is such a picture of his daddy, and has such a precious little gleam in his eyes!! After that session was the cutest little gal, and right up my alley, full of pink and frills! Stephanie, she is precious and was so fun to work with! Also had two twins (okay, so not really twins, but might as well be) of a friend I used to work with. I have watched them grow from the time Frances brought them back from Guatemala. They are so full of energy and watching them always wears me out!! But they are two of the most adorable little boys around! Their little fireman outfits grandma bought them were TDF!!!! Finally my last two sessions for the week were a couple of little sweeties... Beth & Jim- Thanks for being patient and waiting on me, but it worked out b/c I ended up with a full session of wonderful pictures!!! Becky- Thank you also! I ended up with some of the most incredible pictures I have ever done of "A". She really made my day that morning with her smiles!!!

So finally my last picture for this post is also of little Miss "A" from sat. It comes in as one of those that I just cant take my eyes off of. It really is what I go for in every session, and really hope to capture. Its kind of funny, as allot of times its not the picture that a mom always buys. But, its always the picture that I'm so drawn to and I long for of my own kids. Its not a smile, its the serious, deep soulful look that you almost feel like you can see into the child, to the depth of their innocence. This ones up there with one of my all time favs.

Weekend highlights, and man were there a lot!

This weekend was full of some really fun shoots! I had several repeat clients, which are always so much fun, and so easy as you get to know the kiddos so much better! The first was out at beautiful private lake with 3 of the most gorgeous boys... man Kim, will you have the girls at your house when they grow up!!! I'm just including some of the middle boy in the post as the purpose was his birthday shoot, and man, were they what stuck out in my mind when I was editing! He was cracking me up with his little cowboy posing and has the most incredible eyes! Then Sat. brought me one of my very first clients ever... Ive done his birthday shoots ever since and its so fun watching him grow! What a little boy full of so much spunk! Missy you will have your hands full! He has that ornery gleam in his eyes!!! Also had another return client for family photos and wow, another mom to 4 kids! I always take my hat off to anyone who can do that, my 3 keep me completely insane!!! I'm just including one of the youngest of the bunch, and Julie- even though she had a mind of her own sat, I still did get some really good shots of her, the family and all the kids!!!

Last but definitely not least, the followup outside pictures for my first senior of the season. I'm going to include several in this post, as there were just so many incredible ones. This was one of those shoots that as a photographer, I almost felt like I was cheating or something, "K" is such a beautiful girl, and the camera really loves her, and I don't think I could have taken a truly "bad" picture of her if I tried!!! I'm dying to get to the editing of these, even though I have several sessions to finish before I can!!!

Last weeks highlights!

Here's some highlights for you guys who had sessions during the week last week... I haven't gotten to Saturdays shoots yet though. I had such a group of cuties last week, so fun to work with... although I did have one two year old give me a run for my money, but still managed to get some really great shots full of expression!

Busy Week

With the twins in Kansas City all week visiting grandma you'd think Id get more done, but we still seemed to be so busy we didn't know what to do.... helping out with VBS kept our mornings busy, and then most evenings we had photoshoots... I'm not sure how, but the summer break when you think you ll have more time, it seems like we are busier than the school year! Here's a couple from VBS last week. I'm going to post some teasers from each of my sessions last week later today, so check back if your waiting on seeing your session!

a whole lotta stuff...

Last week was a busy week! I had a few more sessions than I usually schedule to accommodate a couple of out-of-town clients who were only in town for a short while. First, of my out of town clients was a belly session from St. Louis, and the second was a family session with parts of the family from Columbia and parts from St. Louis. Which made me think a little about who my clients are. Most are from the mid-mo and surrounding areas, but I have multiple families from both St. Louis and Kansas City that travel here for photo sessions. I have clients from Ohio, Tennessee, and Kentucky. My Furthest clients are 2 different families from Australia, and my closest clients are 2 houses down the street. It is always a little flattering when someone drives that far for sessions, or makes a point to schedule sessions around trips to mid-mo.

The rest of the week was already booked full with clients as well, which Ill include a few teasers for those of you who's sessions are finished being edited yet. I also had a rare session this week for me... I did a wedding. Although, it was quite different from the "traditional" wedding. After a ceremony at the Courthouse we met at the gov. gardens for some quick pictures. Luckily the rain held off, as we hadn't made any alternate plans! Congrats to you both B&D!

Then I had my first senior session of the year... we were all set to meet and do some outside shots, but the rain didn't quite cooperate! So we headed to the studio and got those out of the way. All I can say is Wow! What a little beauty, and just all around sweet girl! I'm so excited to finish the rest of our session!!
